eCab Website and App Privacy Policy
I. Collection of Information
A) Location Information:
As a public and private transportation service for specific regions, eCab collects information regarding the user's location specifically for the purpose of ensuring that they are within the Geofence for their service zone, and that their destination is also within the selected service zone as well. Location services for the user must be enabled for the application to properly track their location, otherwise it may miscalculate their position and reject the request for a ride automatically. This action is considered a voluntary user action, which means that the user consents to location tracking before the service is enabled.
B) Personal Information:
Personal Information refers to any information regarding the user's identity that we track for the purpose of providing services. This information includes but is not limited to: First and Last Name, Phone Number, Email Address, and Date of Birth on registration of services (User's must be at least 13 Years of Age). As well as: First and Last Name, Phone Number, and Location when requesting services. And finally: Any information needed when paying for services: Credit or Debit Card information, Billing Address, or any other related information. This information can only be requested by eCab upon one of the above actions. These actions listed are considered voluntary user actions, which means that the user consents to eCab requesting and having this information for these purposes.
C) No Information Collected from Children:
eCab will never knowingly or intentionally collect any personal information about anyone under the age of 13. If eCab obtains any such information, or knowledge that we have collected such information, that information will be immediately deleted from all backend databases that received it. Because they do not knowingly or intentionally collect such information, to the best of eCab's knowledge and belief, eCab has no such information to use or to disclose to any affiliate or third party. eCab has designed this policy in order to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act.
D) Billing Information:
The Website and the Application may require information regarding the user's Credit or Debit Card. Such as the expiration date, Card Number, Holder Name, Zip code, and CVV. As well as when the user placed the order with that credit or debit card. This information is encrypted and only accessed for billing purposes by authorized personnel. Such personnel and systems may be subject to investigation should any data breaches occur with this information within eCab databases. eCab or any related third parties will only utilize this information for authorized billing purposes.
E) Dissemination of Information for Legal and Third Party Purposes:
eCab may be required to disclose user information to respond to subpoenas, search warrants, court orders, or other legal process. Beyond that eCab may require the user's personal and payment information in the case they are paying for the third party's services through eCab.
II. Collection of Cookies, Web Beacons, and Other Information
A) Cookies
Cookies are small data bits stored on the hard drive of the user's device. This data is used to identify the user with their corresponding data that resides in our network's database. The user can control cookies via the web application; however, the mobile and desktop installations will automatically use cookies.
